Self-portrait.

Pink Thai pants, and a blazing hot pink top.
Slipping off one very sunburned shoulder.
A colorful cloth bag slung across her bod.
She wishes the bottle of soymilk she sips was colder.

Slipping off one very sunburned shoulder
Which today, on her porch, actually looks quite tan.
She skips and smiles and finds she’s getting bolder.
Each day of this dream, she opens and expands.

Which today, in the sunlight, actually looks quite tan.
Yesterday’s swim is tomorrow’s healthy glow.
She pads barefoot over rocks, and wood, and sand.
She imagines she’s an Indian, a bird, a sow.

Yesterday’s swim is tomorrow’s healthy glow.
She is one with the jungle, look!  I bet you can’t find her…
As she creeps, and jumps, and leaps on nimble toes-
She finds a cave, and bows before she enters.

She is one with the jungle, look!  I bet you can’t find her…
A colorful cloth bag slung across her bod.
She finds a cave, and bows before she enters.
In pink Thai pants and a blazing hot pink top.
